  21. Two points:

  23. 1) Whoops! I'm sorry! Blitz has been out 3 years - okay, okay (geesh).
  24. Even so, three years is a long time. Give Blitz 3 years and i'm still sure
  25. that it will be just as popular. Programming languages need that `killer`
  26. app. and from several demo's i've seen Bltz's may be around the corner.

  28. 2) Amos is slow, you have to wake up and realise that. I've rewritten
  29. several of my amos programs in Blitz and they go like s**t off a hot shovel
  30. (even with the debugger on) compaired to the amos crawl.
  31.  
  32. 3) Amos compiled files are huge, if anyone feels like writing one that
  33. compiles an amos program efficiently, then please let the Amos world know.
  34. Yes i know you can compress them, but that isn't the point is it?
  35.  
  36. 4) Whoever did that table was very biased towards Amos. If you going to do
  37. a able like that be objective - if your going to write a `simple` game
  38. which isn't processor intensive and you want to write it quickly then use
  39. Amos. If you have a bit more time (and your game is a little more
  40. intensive) then use Blitz otherwise forget it all and go for C.

  42. 5) To speed up your Amos programs get an accelerator? Heh, i wish! :-)

  44. I'm not a true Blitz fan. I still love Amos but to be perfectly honest
  45. Amos has had its day and what with the lack of support from europress and
  46. the forthcomming Blitz3 we'll probably all be talking about Blitz in the
  47. distant future.
